Wrinkles Smoothing - Botox

Several processes occur to our body, as part of the aging process, which lead to excessive skin tissue and wrinkles.

  • Loss of skin elasticity

  • Significant slowdown in the natural production rate of substances that are responsible for building connective tissue in the body

  • Degradation of fat downwards due to gravity

Facial wrinkles can be divided into two groups: dynamic expression wrinkles and static wrinkles.
In order to remove the satatic wrinkles engraved on the skin, the wrinkles must be filled with hyaluronic acid, however, the disappearance of dynamic expression wrinkles is done by smoothing them with Botox.

Botulinum Toxin - better known by its marketing name Botox
Botox is a substance extracted from the toxin of the botulinum bacterium and its purpose is to suppress the expression muscles which cause, among other things, expression lines in the upper third of the face.
There are three common Botox injection sites for wrinkle treatment:

Frown Lines

Glabellar/Forehead Lines

Laugh Lines

1. Forehead - Treat the common "Glabellar Lines" which may appear at a very young age due to lifting of the eyebrows.

2. Between the eyebrows - Treat the "Frown Lines" caused due to shrinking the muscles while concentrating and in anger.

3. Around the eyes - Treat the "Laugh Lines" caused while laughting and shrinking the eyes.

Wrinkles in these areas are caused due to repeated movement of the muscles combined with the aging effects of a decrease in the amount of fat and elasticity of the skin.
The repetitive movements of the expression muscles leave the wrinkles engraved on the skin, which over time stops coming back to themselves and hence the wrinkles become visible even at rest.
If the Botox treatment is started at a younger age (as early as 30 years old) such engraving of wrinkles on the skin can be significantly prevented or reduced.
